Solutions Consultant: Zendesk

1. You recently moved to Atlanta, tell us about that:

A: While I’m only three weeks in, I can ascertain it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made, both career-wise and personally. Being in a customer-facing role, the proximity to customers I work with allows me to exponentially increase my impact. Simultaneously, moving to a new city fulfills my cravings for adventure. Having lived most of my life in California with a stint in New York, the opportunity to live in Atlanta enables me to experience a new culture and lifestyle.

An area of importance to me is personal growth and development, which I believe can only be achieved by stepping out of your comfort zone. Living away from what I consider home and traveling, a passion of mine, are critical for me to better understand my identity, my priorities and to set goals for the future.

2. What exactly does a Solutions Consultant do? Do you enjoy it?

A: Let’s answer the second question first. Absolutely. If it wasn’t thrilling and fulfilling, I wouldn’t be in this role today. While the scope of the role varies based on organization, a solutions consultant in the tech industry serves as a strategic, customer-facing advocate that bridges the gap between sales and technology. While it’s still sales, it is a tech heavy role, fulfilling my love for sales and desire to be technical.

3. What is your favorite way to relax after a long day?

A: Taking a walk while reflecting is definitely my favorite way to relax. After a long day, consuming and understanding what has occurred is all too often forgotten. We often do not focus on the day’s activities, especially when our thoughts and emotions are still raw. Relaxing is a prime opportunity to process the day’s events, in an effort to learn and grow. That being said, who doesn’t love some R&R with dessert?
